Big Daddy Vladdy Actually 34

Bad news from Arizona today as our pride and joy outfielder Vladimir Guerrero let it slip out that he is actually 34-years old instead of the 33 he claimed he was.  “I feel good. I can’t say 25, because, you know, I’m 34. But I feel a lot better. That’s where I’m at right now.”  Vladdy joins the crop of Dominican-born players who  lied about their age, including Houston Astros’ shortstop Miguel Tejada and ex-Angel Bartolo Colon.

Hopefully Halo fans can forgive Guerrero, as I no doubt will.  What it might affect though is the contract-extension talks that will presumably last all spring.  He is a free-agent after 2009, but has told the media that he wants to stay in Anaheim.  Our front-office made it clear that they already knew Vladdy’s real age, possibly to hide themselves from embarrasment.
